Honoring the Guru-Shishya Tradition

“The greatest joy for a guru is to witness their students’ success and growth, and this bond lies at the heart of the Bharat Maestro Awards,” Rahman explained. “This initiative goes beyond being just an award; it connects the past, present, and future of music and unites us all through the language of sound.”

A Milestone for KM Music Conservatory

The awards coincide with the 16th anniversary of the KM Music Conservatory. Rahman founded this institution to offer programs in Western and Indian classical music traditions and cutting-edge music technology. Reflecting on this milestone, Rahman said, “The Conservatory has always sought to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, creating opportunities for young artists to develop their craft while staying grounded in the cultural fabric of India.”
