Vijay Salgaonkar Is Back for One Final Game in “Drishyam: The Conclusion”
After two films built around secrets, carefully constructed alibis, and Vijay Salgaonkar’s ability to stay one step ahead, the Hindi “Drishyam” franchise returns for one final chapter.
“Drishyam: The Conclusion” brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Ishita Dutta, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj joining the cast. Abhishek Pathak returns to direct the third installment, which arrives in theaters Oct. 2, 2026, a date longtime “Drishyam” viewers will immediately recognize.
Oct. 2 has become part of the franchise’s identity, built around the carefully constructed alibi at the center of the Salgaonkar family’s story. Choosing that date for the new film feels like a fitting way to bring Vijay’s long-running game full circle.

How One Family Secret Became a Franchise
The “Drishyam” story began with Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam film in 2013, following Georgekutty and his family after they become involved in the disappearance of a police officer’s son. Its success led to remakes in several Indian languages, including the 2015 Hindi adaptation starring Devgn, Tabu and Saran.
“Drishyam 2” followed in Hindi in 2022, returning to Vijay and his family years after the first film. The sequel once again tested the story Vijay had carefully constructed and raised the stakes around whether the truth could remain buried. Now, the third installment is set to bring the Hindi storyline to its conclusion.
A Different Story This Time
One of the biggest reasons to watch “Drishyam: The Conclusion” is that audiences cannot simply turn to the Malayalam “Drishyam 3” to find out what happens next.
Unlike the previous Hindi films, the third installment follows an original storyline that is separate from the Malayalam version. For once, watching the Malayalam film will not give Hindi audiences a roadmap for Vijay Salgaonkar’s next move.
That gives “The Conclusion” something the Hindi franchise has not had before: a largely unpredictable final chapter. After spending two films watching Vijay anticipate every question, close every gap, and construct an explanation for nearly every detail, audiences will enter this story without knowing where the filmmakers intend to take him.
