The New Sanskar Savvy Brings South Asian Events, Culture and Community Together
When Sanskar Savvy launched in 2024, the idea was simple. We wanted to create a place where people could discover more of the music, events, entertainment, people, and stories shaping South Asian life in North America. Celebrate, Explore, Connect! gave us a place to start, but we could not have predicted how much the people around Sanskar would help shape what came next.
Over the past two years, we have met fans at concerts, spoken with artists and their teams, covered cricket and cultural events, worked with promoters and partners, shared contests and ticket opportunities, highlighted businesses, and heard directly from all of you about what you wanted to find more easily. You asked what was happening in your city, when tickets went on sale, what to watch, which artists to follow, and where to find local businesses. You also sent us names, recommendations, and stories we might not have found on our own, hoping we could help share them with a wider audience.
The new SanskarSavvy.com grew out of those conversations and everything all of you shared with us along the way. We have built a stronger home for events, entertainment, streaming, music, cricket, businesses, contests, local discovery, and original stories, with more ways to find what matters to you and more ways to take part. We have been working toward many of these ideas for a long time, and we are so happy to finally share them.
Where We Started
South Asian culture has never meant one language, one country, one region, one tradition, or one experience. Our community brings roots, languages, traditions, interests, and experiences from across South Asia and the diaspora. We want Sanskar Savvy to reflect more of that breadth, give more people a place to see themselves represented, and help all of us discover more about one another.
People find their way to Sanskar Savvy for all kinds of reasons. Some come for concerts and music, while others are looking for cricket, a film or streaming recommendation, a local festival, a business, an artist interview, food, fashion, careers, or stories about identity and diaspora life. We also keep an eye on major North American concerts, festivals, artists, and cultural moments that we think our audience will want to know about.
Since we started, our coverage has included Major League Cricket, A.R. Rahman, Vishal & Sheykhar, Anuv Jain, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Kumar Sanu, Hanumankind, Diljit Dosanjh, and many other artists, events, tours, and cultural moments across North America. During the 13-market Vishal & Sheykhar Superhit Tour this summer, we connected fans with interviews, concert information, contests, ticket updates, fan stories, and city-specific coverage.
Those experiences have helped us understand what people want from Sanskar, and the new site brings what we have learned together into one place.
More Ways to Explore Events, Culture and Entertainment
The expanded Events Hub is one of the biggest changes. People can search for South Asian concerts, comedy shows, festivals, conventions, and cultural events by city, state, month, and event type, with dates, venues, and ticket information organized in one place. We will also continue highlighting major North American concerts, music festivals, and cultural events we think our audience should know about, including artists and experiences that cross cultures and reach new audiences.
The event calendar is only one part of that coverage. We will continue sharing tour announcements, presale information, concert guides, contests, artist interviews, firsthand coverage, and stories about the people behind these experiences. Our entertainment coverage also includes film and television, OTT and streaming guides, music releases, playlists, artist features, and recommendations. The Sanskar Artist Spotlight introduces established and emerging artists worth knowing, while Sanskar Sessions brings audiences closer to artists, creators, producers, and cultural leaders.
Cricket remains a major part of Sanskar, including international tournaments, Major League Cricket, North American cricket, players, business developments, and stories that matter to fans across the diaspora. The Business Directory gives people another way to find and support South Asian-owned and community-focused businesses and organizations. At the same time, our broader editorial coverage continues to grow across restaurants, food, fashion, careers, local leaders, identity, and everyday experiences across cities and generations.
Sanskar Savvy is a South Asian media, event discovery, and community platform serving audiences across the United States and Canada, but our curiosity does not stop at the edges of one category. If there is a major festival, concert, artist, cultural moment, business, or story we think our community will want to know about, we want to help put it on their radar.
Built With the People Around Us
A big part of Sanskar’s growth has come from the people who have believed in what we are building and chosen to be part of it. Artists and their teams have trusted us with interviews and stories, promoters and venues have welcomed us into their events, and businesses and organizations have worked with us on projects and opportunities for our audience. Writers and contributors have brought ideas and perspectives from the communities they know best, while the people who follow Sanskar have entered contests, shared stories, sent recommendations, asked questions, and introduced others to what we are doing.
Every one of those relationships has helped Sanskar grow and taught us more about how we can be useful. We are grateful for that trust, and the new website gives us better ways to turn what we have learned into something people can actually use.
That might mean helping someone find an event happening nearby, introducing an artist to a new audience, helping a local business get discovered, sharing a contest or presale while there is still time to take advantage of it, or bringing attention to a person, organization, project, or story that deserves to be seen. Creating more of those connections is one of the things we are most excited about as Sanskar Savvy grows.
Tell Us What We Should Know
Our team can’t see everything happening across South Asian communities in North America, and we don’t want Sanskar Savvy to grow in a bubble. We want to hear from the people who know their cities, businesses, organizations, artists, and local stories best.
If you are hosting an event, submit it to the Events Hub. If you own a South Asian business or know one that should be included, send it to the Business Directory. And if there is an artist, chef, entrepreneur, athlete, creator, organization, local leader, restaurant, business, or person doing work we should know about, tell us. We also want tips on places we should try, businesses we should review, stories we should investigate, traditions we should explore, and anything happening in your city that deserves more attention.
Some of our best future stories may begin with something one of you sends us. That is part of how we want Sanskar Savvy to keep growing, by listening closely, following good recommendations, and making it easier for more people to help us find what matters.
We have also created the Sanskar WhatsApp Community for people who want a more direct connection to select updates. Presales, contests, ticket opportunities, tour announcements, and event news can move quickly, so WhatsApp gives us another way to share timely information with people who want to hear about it early. Our newsletter brings together stories, events, recommendations, and updates worth knowing, giving people another way to stay connected without depending on a social feed to catch everything.
What Comes Next
Seeing the Events Hub, Business Directory, expanded editorial coverage, WhatsApp Community, and new submission tools together in one place means a lot to our team. We have talked about many of these ideas for a long time, tested things along the way, listened to what people told us was useful, and made changes when we knew something could work better. Now we get to put more of those ideas to work and keep building on them.
Explore the new SanskarSavvy.com. Find an event, browse the Business Directory, read an interview, check the latest streaming or cricket coverage, join the WhatsApp Community, subscribe to the newsletter, or send us something happening in your city. If there is a business, artist, organization, person, event, or story we should know about, we want to hear about it. And if you do not see your city, culture, community, or something you care about represented yet, tell us.
There are also plenty of ways to get more involved. We are always interested in hearing from writers, content creators, photographers, videographers, concert fans, cricket fans, and people who know their local communities and want to help us discover and share what is happening around them. Join the WhatsApp Community, send us a message, pitch us an idea, or introduce yourself. You do not need to wait for us to find you.
Sanskar Savvy has reached this point because people believed in us, trusted us with their projects and stories, worked with us, shared our coverage, sent us ideas, and kept showing up. We are grateful for that support, and we are excited to keep building something that reflects more of the people, cultures, interests, and experiences that make up South Asian life across North America.
Together, we can Celebrate the people and cultures that make our communities special, Explore the events, businesses, stories, and ideas worth knowing, and Connect the people who want to be part of it.
