An Artist’s Perspective on Ariana Grande’s The Eternal Sunshine Tour

Some concerts stay with you for much longer after they’ve finished, not just because of the music, but because of how they make you feel.

Attending Ariana Grande’s The Eternal Sunshine Tour was one of those experiences. As someone who grew up listening to both South Asian music and Western pop, seeing one of the defining artists of my generation perform live felt surreal. It wasn’t just about finally hearing some of my favourite songs live. It was also about experiencing the cinematic vision and beautiful voice of one of my favourite artists!

At Sanskar Savvy, we love to Celebrate, Explore, and Connect! with South Asian entertainment, but we also know many of us in the diaspora grew up with playlists that crossed cultures. Those influences are a part of who we are, and experiences like this remind us why music has such a lasting impact.

Watching an Artist who Excels at Her Craft

Undoubtedly, the biggest takeaway from the night was Ariana’s command of the stage. Her confidence, stage presence, and vocals are so expressive; every note feels controlled and effortless. She lets her voice be the highlight and carry her through each act so naturally, and anyone who sings or performs knows just how much work and dedication goes into making something look that natural.

The production matched the same level of care. I loved the visuals between songs, the ongoing storyline and its meaning, and appreciated how the extensive stage design and lighting all supported the music without ever distracting from it. There was nothing extra, nor anything lacking; every moment felt intentional, which created a mesmerizing experience.

As an independent artist myself, watching one of my music idols perform at that level was a whole other experience. It’s entertaining, it’s magical, and it also reminded me how engaged audiences become while watching their favourite artists live, noticing the tiny details, obsessing over their art, and showering them with so much love..

The Moments That Defined the Night

Something I really loved was watching the crowd. Fans arrived all dressed up, inspired by Ariana’s iconic outfits and album aesthetics or in her tour merch, and even exchanged gifts such as little cards or bracelets, which was so sweet. The energy was so high, starting all the way from lining up outside to enter the venue (even while it was pouring rain), to the photobooths, waiting during the countdown, and all the way till her last note. Every chorus was a giant sing-along, and even Ariana called us her loudest audience!

At the same time, the audience was respectful and quiet when needed, including during her live looping for “eternal sunshine” and the silent challenge for “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).”

The night also came with a few surprises. Ariana treated the audience to “petal,” the first live performance of her (then) unreleased song from her new album, making the show feel even more personal. She also performed “worst behavior” live during her new a cappella segment, giving fans a chance to hear the song in a completely different way.

These are the moments that remind you how important live music and concerts are, especially in today’s fast-paced world. They help you step into a different realm and just live in the moment, connected with your favorite artist and surrounded by people all enjoying the music.

Why It Meant So Much Personally

Seeing Ariana live for the first time felt surreal. She’s been one of my biggest singing inspirations for years, so finally hearing that voice in person didn’t quite feel real. The consistency, the control, the emotion- it was incredible to see up close.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just Ariana’s vocals or the production. It was how thoughtfully everything connected. The music, visuals, lighting, choreography, and storytelling worked together to create something that felt complete. Everything felt intentional and thoughtful, allowing the audience to experience the full story.

Watching someone execute a vision with such care reminded me that great artistry isn’t just about talent. It’s about knowing exactly what you want people to feel and making every creative decision that serves that purpose. I left the arena with a sense of awe and inspiration. The show sparked something creatively, not to recreate what I’d just seen; rather, it simply made me excited to keep creating. As an artist, that’s a feeling I’ll carry with me for a long time.

More Than a Night of Music

The Eternal Sunshine Tour gave me the most incredible night, both as a fan and as an artist. I left inspired, creatively energized, and with an even greater appreciation for the care that goes into bringing an artistic vision to life.

For many of us in the South Asian diaspora, our love for music has never been limited to a single genre or culture. It’s shaped by everything we’ve grown up listening to, discovering, and celebrating along the way. Experiences like this remind us why live music continues to bring people together, spark creativity, and create memories that stay with us long after the final encore.

At Sanskar Savvy, those are the moments we love sharing as we continue to help our community Celebrate, Explore, Connect!
