Monsoon Feels Incomplete Without a Darshan Raval Song

Every artist hopes people will remember their music. Very few become part of a season.
For Darshan Raval, the arrival of monsoon has become just as much about new music as it is about the rain itself.

Over the years, the singer-songwriter has established a tradition that fans now look forward to every monsoon (the rainy season in India). Darshan has shared that he simply loves the monsoon and released his first seasonal song because he genuinely enjoyed the feeling of the rain. After fans embraced it, he continues this tradition every year, making it a sort of ritual and a beautiful song that fans await.

At Sanskar Savvy, we love to Celebrate the traditions that music creates, Explore new music and Connect with artists! And Darshan’s connection with the monsoon is one of those cool examples where an artist has become part of a season’s identity.

Before The Rain

This year, Darshan made this tradition feel even more personal. Before announcing this year’s song, he sent a heartfelt email to members of his “Blue Circle” newsletter titled “Before the Rain.” Rather than sharing a typical teaser, he wrote what felt like a letter. It reflected the feeling of the season, his love for it, quietly hinted that new music was on the way, and gave fans a glimpse into a tradition they have come to anticipate every year.

This organic connection is part of what makes it so special. This was born out of an artist’s love and music style, combined with the love of his listeners and their expectations of continued good music. Darshan has embraced this feeling and continues to deliver that through heartfelt music that feels personal and gentle.

The Darshan Raval Monsoon Universe

South Asian music has long shared a special relationship with the monsoon. Rain has inspired generations of poets, filmmakers, composers, and storytellers. Darshan Raval has added his own chapter to that tradition, giving us some beautiful songs to accompany the beautiful weather and, most importantly, by genuinely loving what he puts out and staying true to something he loves so much.

His growing collection of monsoon songs includes:

2016 – Ab Phirse Jab Baarish
2017 – Ye Baarish
2018 – Baarish Lete Aana
2019 – Hawa Banke
2020 – Barsaat
2021 – Jannat Ve
2022 – Baarishon Mein
2023 – Lo Aayi Barsaat
2026 – Barsaat Lagdi Ae

More Than Just Songs About Rain

While each song tells its own story, they all share a similar feeling. They capture the quiet moments that often come with the rainy season: reflection, longing, comfort, hope, and love. His gentle melodies and conversational songwriting make them easy to revisit year after year, turning them into staples on many monsoon playlists.

Instead of simply writing songs about rain, Darshan has created music that many listeners now associate with the season itself. Perhaps that’s why the tradition continues to be relatable. Every monsoon arrives with familiar excitement, familiar emotions, and the hope that somewhere, another Darshan Raval rain song is waiting.
