Your June 2026 Guide to South Asian OTT Releases

Not every film makes it onto everyone’s theatre watchlist, which is exactly why OTT releases have become such an important part of the movie conversation. This month brings a mix of major theatrical releases, sleeper hits, and regional films to streaming platforms. Whether you’re catching up on a film you missed or looking for something new to watch, here are the South Asian movies arriving on OTT this June. Brown

Platform: Zee5
Release Date: June 5 
Language: Hindi

Karisma Kapoor stars in this psychological crime thriller series, in a gritty, deglamorized role as Rita Brown, a troubled Kolkata police officer investigating a ritualistic murder. Based on Abheek Barua’s novel City of Death, the Kolkata-set series follows a widow deputy as she tracks down a serial killer and also features Surya Sharma, Soni Razdan, and veteran actress Helen. 

Karuppu

Platform: Amazon Prime Video
Release Date: June 12
Language: Tamil (also available in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam) 

A fantasy-action film written and directed by RJ Balaji, starring Suriya as the guardian deity Vettai Karuppu and Trisha Krishnan. In a world where the legal system is corrupt and exploits the powerless, the deity takes the disguise of a mortal lawyer to battle predatory adversaries and seek justice for marginalized communities. 

Maa Behen

Platform: Netflix
Release Date: June 4
Language: Hindi

This black comedy thriller stars Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in lead roles, along with Dharna Durga and Ravi Kishan. The film follows a non-conforming, fiercely independent single mother and her two estranged daughters who team up to cover up the accidental death of a puritanical, nosy neighbor in order to protect themselves from societal judgment. 

Raakh 

Platform: Amazon Prime Video
Release Date: June 12
Language: Hindi

An atmospheric, 1970s-set investigative thriller follows a rookie cop, sub-inspector Jayprakash, played by Ali Fazal, in Delhi as he investigates the heinous kidnapping of children. The relentless nationwide manhunt plunges him into a dark underworld of violence, human depravity, and deep psychological trauma.

Release Date: June 5 
Language: Tamil (also available in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam)

A romantic drama starring Vidhu and Preethi Asrani. Directed by Rathna Kumar, the film follows Sathya, a 29-year-old man grappling with a severe identity crisis and a lack of career ambition, who falls for Viji, a fiercely driven IAS aspirant. Their romance tests the balance between love and personal ambition, eventually leading Sathya on a journey of self-discovery and reinvention following their breakup.

Made in India: A Titan Story  

Platform: Amazon Prime Video
Release Date: June 3
Language: Hindi

Starring Jim Sarbh and Naseeruddin Shah, this series is set in Bombay in the 1970s and follows a true story. It is the audacious journey of Xerxes Desai and Akash Dikshit as they challenge a smuggler-run watch market by dreaming of an indigenous, world-class Indian brand.

Raja Shivaji 

Platform: Netflix
Release Date: June 26 
Language: Marathi (also available in Hindi)

Co-written, directed by, and starring Riteish Deshmukh in the titular lead role, the film is a historical action drama based on the life of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. The film was theatrically released on May 1, grossing over ₹130 crore, becoming the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, and the eighth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026.

KD: The Devil 

Platform: Zee5
Release Date: June 5 
Language: Kannada (also available in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam)

Set in 1970s Bengaluru, the film follows Kaali (KD), a carefree, good-natured kerosene dealer whose life descends into violence after an inadvertent clash with crime syndicates forces him from an innocent underdog into a formidable underworld kingpin. Stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. 

May Highlights: A Look Back at Last Month in Cinema

May continued South Asian cinema’s busy run, with major stars returning to the screen, successful franchises getting new chapters, and several regional films generating strong audience interest.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge: Ranveer Singh led this action thriller from director Aditya Dhar, marking one of the actor’s most anticipated projects. Featuring a large ensemble cast and a revenge-driven storyline, the film generated significant buzz post the extreme success of part 1 of the film. 

Love Insurance Kompany (LIK): Directed by Vignesh Shivan and starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, this Tamil romantic comedy blended modern relationships with a quirky premise involving futuristic matchmaking. The film attracted attention from younger audiences and fans of Shivan’s signature romantic storytelling style.

Lukkhe: This Punjabi comedy-drama followed a group of small-town dreamers navigating friendship, ambition, and everyday chaos. With its relatable humor and strong ensemble cast, the film found a solid audience among Punjabi cinema fans.

Love Mocktail 3: One of Kannada cinema’s most successful romantic franchises returned with another emotional chapter. Building on the popularity of the first two films, director and actor Darling Krishna once again explored love, heartbreak, and second chances through a story that resonated strongly with audiences.

Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam: Following the success of the original film, this sequel expanded its focus on Indian classical dance traditions while continuing its family-centered narrative. The film stood out for its cultural themes and celebration of traditional performing arts.

Dacoit: A Love Story: Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur teamed up for this Telugu action thriller centered on betrayal, revenge, and a fractured romance. Combining high-stakes action with emotional drama, the film quickly became one of the month’s most discussed releases. The film’s Hindi version releases on Amazon Prime Video on June 5. 

Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros: The sequel to the Malayalam hit Vaazha continued the story of a generation trying to find its place in the world. Packed with humor, friendship, and coming-of-age themes, the film built on the popularity of its predecessor and connected strongly with younger audiences.

Biker: This action-packed thriller followed the world of underground motorcycle racing and crime. With high-speed stunt sequences and a gritty atmosphere, the film delivered one of the month’s more adrenaline-fueled viewing experiences.

With another packed month of releases ahead, June looks set to continue that momentum.
