This Feels Bigger Than a Game
It’s called a doubleheader and it means you get two full matches for one ticket. That’s nearly six hours of high-octane action with breaks to dance to the DJ, grab food, or cop free giveaways from team tents.
You’ll find cricket superstars roaming the concourse, team mascots handing out branded gear, and fans in jerseys and sunglasses locked in for the full experience. Bars stay open. Food trucks roll late. The stadium lights stay on until the final firework explodes over the outfield.
Joyce Mealey, who attended her first Major League Cricket match this week, shared:
“I didn’t grow up watching cricket, but being there in person changed everything. The energy in the stadium, the fans, the music, the pace of the game, it felt like a global sporting block party. I’m already planning to go back.”
The Matchups
3:00 PM – San Francisco Unicorns vs Texas Super Kings
7:00 PM – Washington Freedom vs Seattle Orcas
These matchups hit hard. The San Francisco Unicorns bring Corey Anderson’s left-handed firepower and Haris Rauf’s blazing pace against the Super Kings’ calculated dominance with Faf du Plessis and Marcus Stoinis. It’s a battle between flair and control.
Then the night match goes full superstar mode. Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith lead Washington Freedom with an all-Aussie core known for unpredictable switches and reverse sweeps. They take on the Seattle Orcas, who have been red hot behind David Warner’s explosive starts and Heinrich Klaasen’s cold-blooded finishes.
Bindu Ranaut, from Sanskar Savvy’s media team and a lifelong cricket fan, added:
“For anyone who already loves the game, this is the dream. You’re watching players like David Warner and Glenn Maxwell live in Florida, surrounded by food trucks, fireworks, and music. It’s proof that cricket culture is growing here, and this league is just getting started.”
Fireworks After the Final Ball
Once the last run is scored, everyone stays seated. Broward County Stadium will launch its first ever post-game fireworks show. Music pumps through the speakers. Players return to the field. And the sky lights up over the outfield.
If you’re looking for a Fourth of July plan that feels fresh, global, and more electric than standing around at a park, this is it.
