Behind the Lens With Sights with Siggy, Toronto’s South Asian Concert Influencer

What began as a genuine love for concerts, and each other, has evolved into Sights with Siggy, a Toronto-based creator turning fleeting South Asian live music moments into shared cultural experiences. Through concert videos shared on social media, she aims to make live music feel accessible and shareable, no matter where audiences are watching. Below is a list of questions our team at Sanskar Savvy developed to learn more about her experience becoming an influencer in the South Asian Entertainment industry. We are sure you will Celebrate, Explore, Connect! with Sights with Siggy.

Sanskar Savvy: What first inspired you to start documenting your concert experiences?

Siggy: Working in medicine and aviation means we live in high-stress worlds, so we’re intentional about protecting our relationship and our work–life balance. One of the ways we do that is by filling our time off with things we both genuinely love. For us, that’s music. I’ve been a dancer my whole life and even performed at Anirudh’s first concert in Toronto, and my husband has always been a music lover and singer. Naturally, concerts became our favorite date nights.

When we’re at a show, it feels like we’ve stepped into another universe, where the only language is music. We started documenting our experiences simply because we enjoy videography and love having something to look back on to relive the night.

Sanskar Savvy: When did you realize that Sights with Siggy was growing into a sustainable community and moving beyond a hobby?

Siggy: We realized that when people outside our close circle started reaching out for more content, such as concert recaps, food spots, and travel ideas. Engagement grew, we had more collaborations, and we understood people genuinely enjoyed seeing these moments through our lens. Not everyone gets the chance to attend these experiences in person, so being able to bring that joy to others made it feel bigger than just a hobby.

Sanskar Savvy: As a couple who creates together, what does your creative process look like?

Siggy: In the early days, our friends joked that Sights with Siggy was basically a fan page for my husband because he appeared in so much of the content. But once we started leaning into the concert world, he stepped in behind the camera like he’d been doing it forever.

People tease me that I married him for his height so I could have a built-in 6’4” drone, and honestly, it’s not entirely wrong.

Jokes aside, we’ve found our rhythm: he captures the moments, and I bring everything to life in the edit. Although recently he’s been trying to “help” with editing, I quietly fix things when he’s not looking.

But truly, creating together has become one of our favorite parts of our week. It’s our thing, a hobby that keeps us grounded, connected, and always excited for the next project.

Sanskar Savvy: You’ve covered so many shows across different genres and artists. Is there one concert that really stood out to you?

Siggy: This is always the toughest question because every show brings something totally unique. But two concerts that truly stood out for us were Vishal & Shekhar’s Superhit Tour and Hiphop Tamizha’s Return of the Dragon Machi World Tour. The energy at both shows was unreal! The crowd, the music, and the way the artists connected with everyone were all on another level. We were dancing for almost three straight hours, and by the end, our legs were done, but our hearts were so full.

One moment we’ll never forget was when Vishal recognized us from our Instagram story mid-show and fist-bumped us in front of thousands of people. Later, when we took a photo with him, he said, “These guys are special” and shared the kindest words. It meant the world to us.

Hiphop Tamizha’s fan meet was just as memorable. We got to connect with him on a deeper, personal level and saw how grounded he was. He has deep love and respect for his community, which made the experience even more meaningful.

We went home buzzing after both concerts and honestly couldn’t sleep. Moments like those remind us that concerts aren’t just events, they’re experiences we treasure. And yes, we’d go to another one of their shows in a heartbeat.

Sanskar Savvy: For many in the diaspora, concerts are a way to reconnect with culture. What role has the South Asian music scene played in shaping your content and the people you reach?

Siggy:  For both of us, music and dance have always been our link to home. I started Bharatanatyam when I was 3 years old, and that shaped so much of my connection to our culture. So naturally, South Asian music has a special place in my heart, and it’s how we stay connected to language, movies, and shared memories.

Covering South Asian concerts feels comfortable as it’s the easiest content for me to create because I relate to it so deeply. I joke that I can think of a South Asian “situation song” for any moment in life, and my community always gets it. Sharing South Asian music on our platform has helped us stay connected around the globe and create a virtual home away from home.

Sanskar Savvy: What guidance would you share with other South Asian creators navigating their own content creation journey?

Siggy: Start with what genuinely brings you joy and just post. Treat it like your digital diary. The people who connect with your style, your humor, and your perspective will naturally find you. As you know, this is a project we enjoy doing as a couple and just naturally brings us joy while helping us take our minds off work. Therefore, we never compare our timeline or posts to anyone else’s. The world is so big, and there’s plenty of room for South Asian creators. If you like creating, just post and do it for yourself.

Sanskar Savvy: When building consistency and connecting with fans, what has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned about growing an authentic audience online?

Siggy: The biggest lesson is that people show up for you. They’re not looking for perfection; they’re looking for content that they enjoy watching. There’s beauty in the imperfect, the unplanned, and the real. We learned to eventually just post without second-guessing ourselves.

Engaging with your audience teaches you so much because they’ll tell you what they love, what resonates, and what they want more of. There are always ups and downs, but taking the positives, learning from feedback, and moving forward keeps everything fun. We genuinely enjoy creating, and we believe our audience can feel that. We just want to enjoy life and encourage others to do so as well.
