Ever Wondered What It’s Like to Work Backstage at a Bollywood Concert?

It’s not all glam and green rooms. It’s a behind-the-scenes pass to the real action — and once you’re in, you’ll never watch a concert the same way again. At Kash Patel Productions, one of North America’s leading producers of South Asian cultural events, the Kash Krew runs the show from behind the scenes. This team of dedicated volunteers keeps everything running smoothly long before the first note hits the speakers.

Jenny Patel, a Kash Krew member at Sunidhi Chauhan Live at Hard Rock, gave Sanskar Savvy a firsthand look at what really happens beyond the spotlight — from high-pressure moments to team victories and everything in between.

As the Audience Walks In, We Hit Full Speed

“The crowd sees the spotlight. We handle everything else,” Jenny said.

She signed up hoping to contribute but quickly found herself immersed in fast-paced coordination and decision-making. “The audience gets the show, but behind that are quick decisions, constant communication, and a team that knows how to move. I joined the Kash Krew to get involved, and what I got was a front-row seat to how everything really works.”

The energy backstage was intense from the start. “At Sunidhi Chauhan Live, the moment I arrived backstage, it felt like stepping into a live wire. Everyone moved with purpose. We handled artist arrivals, meet-and-greets, last-minute changes, and crowd control while remaining composed. There wasn’t a second to waste, and every move mattered.”

Behind the Scenes, Always in Motion

Jenny described the experience as nonstop motion, demanding but rewarding.

“Backstage doesn’t slow down. One moment, I was checking guest lists. Next, I was ensuring that artists had everything they needed. We solved tech issues on the fly, redirected people, answered questions, and kept things flowing. No task felt too small, and no moment felt dull.”

The crew’s chemistry made it work. “Everyone on the Kash Krew knew when to jump in. We came from different backgrounds, but we shared one mission: make the show work. And we did as a team.”

The Meet and Greet Rush

Jenny pointed to one standout moment during the evening was assisting with Sunidhi Chauhan’s meet and greet.

“The energy in that room was intense. People were thrilled just to be near her. I helped manage the flow, made sure guests got their moment, and even gathered a few interviews for the soundbite. It was fast-paced and overwhelming at times, but being trusted with that part of the show meant a lot.”

Behind the Lens

She also made sure to acknowledge the visual storytelling happening behind the scenes.

“A huge thank you to Shrey, our photographer. While we ran from task to task, he captured everything happening backstage: the chaos, the teamwork, the emotion. His photos told the full story, and they’ll always remind us what we pulled off together.”

Tired, Fulfilled, and Ready for More

As the night came to a close, Jenny left with more than just memories.

“I left exhausted but fulfilled. Kash Patel Productions isn’t just about putting on a great show. It’s about community. It’s about representing something bigger than yourself. Being part of the Kash Krew taught me how powerful it is when people come together with a shared goal.”

She now sees concerts through a different lens. “It also gave me a whole new appreciation for live events, for the people who work behind the curtain, who solve problems before the crowd ever notices, and who care deeply about creating moments that matter.”

“I’m grateful I got to be a part of it. Volunteering for the Kash Krew was so much more than a concert experience. It felt like being a part of something real. I’ll be back.”
