Why A.R. Rahman’s Tacoma Concert Was a Dream Come True!
Attending an A.R. Rahman concert has always been a dream of mine. When I found out he was coming to Seattle, I knew I couldn’t miss the opportunity. From dancing to ‘Chhaya Chhaya’ in my bedroom as a little girl, to hearing it live, was a full-circle moment. The concert was an unforgettable night as I got to hear classic songs as well as meet some staff for the first time in person from KPP.
The Excitement Leading Up to the Show
The anticipation began weeks in advance. I listened to his greatest hits on repeat, from “Jai Ho” to “Roja” and “Dil Se.” Every song brought back memories and built up my excitement. The thought of hearing those songs live gave me chills. When the day finally arrived, the city of Tacoma seemed to buzz with energy. The venue was packed with fans who shared the same passion for Rahman’s music, creating an atmosphere that felt festive. Although I was unable to meet him, it was still surreal to see him so close on stage, coaching the new artists.
The Magic of A.R. Rahman Live
As soon as the lights dimmed and A.R. Rahman walked onto the stage, the entire crowd erupted. He greeted the audience with a humble smile, and from that moment on, we were transported into a different world. His voice carried so much power and emotion.
The concert featured a mix of his classic hits and newer compositions. He started with “Yennai Izhukkuthadi,” and performed other hits like “Muqabla” and “Muththa Mazhai.” Each song was performed with flawless precision and genuine passion. The stage visuals, lighting, and sound quality added another layer to the experience. His team of talented musicians and singers from around the world complemented his performance beautifully, making it a complete musical journey.
A Connection Beyond Words
What struck me most was how deeply connected the audience felt to him. People were singing along, cheering, and even tearing up during emotional ballads. It didn’t matter where we were from or what language we spoke; his music united us all. At one point, the entire audience sang along to “Vande Mataram,” and it gave me goosebumps. It was a powerful reminder of how music can bring people together in the most profound way and that it is not bound by language. It was so great to see the audience singing and dancing to all the songs, despite the different languages he sang in.
Why This Experience Meant So Much
For me, this concert was an opportunity to feel inspired and connect with a community of people who share my passion for music. A.R. Rahman’s live performance in Tacoma reminded me of the power of art and the emotions it can stir.
Final Thoughts
If you ever get the chance to see A R Rahman live, take it. My first experience at his concert in Tacoma left me with a hoarse voice from singing, and memories that I’ll cherish forever.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or someone discovering his music for the first time, attending an A.R. Rahman concert is an experience you won’t forget.
