Washington Freedom Advance to Major League Cricket 2025 Final After Rain Washes Out Qualifier 1
Grand Prairie, TX | July 8, 2025 – The first playoff match of the Major League Cricket 2025 season ended in disappointment for fans as Qualifier 1 between Washington Freedom and Texas Super Kings was abandoned due to heavy rain in Grand Prairie, Texas.
With no play possible and the match officially called off, Washington Freedom advanced directly to the MLC 2025 Final based on their higher position on the MLC points table from the group stage.
What’s Next for Texas Super Kings?
While the Texas Super Kings missed the chance to secure a direct path to the final, they still have another opportunity. The team will now compete in Qualifier 2 on Friday, July 11, where they will face the winner of the MLC Eliminator match between the San Francisco Unicorns and MI New York.That Eliminator clash is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, with the winner advancing to face Texas for a spot in the final.
