Delhi began with purpose, reaching 203/4 through a combination of control and late acceleration.

The scoreline suggested pressure for RCB, but the chase unfolded with a different rhythm.

Mandhana and Voll Shift the Match

RCB’s reply gained traction early, but the defining stretch came through the partnership between Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll. Their stand of 165 runs reshaped the match, turning a steep target into a manageable one through clean ball-striking and sharp running.

By the time the partnership ended, Bengaluru had full control of the chase.

How WPL prize payouts stack up against the IPL

RCB got Rs 6 Crore as winners of the WPL final, which is exactly what the winners of the WPL 2025 final (Mumbai Indians) received.

The gap between the two leagues is substantial. The RCB men’s side earned ₹20 crore for winning the IPL in 2025, while the RCB women’s team received ₹6 crore for winning the WPL in 2026, less than one‑third of the IPL champion’s payout.

Individual awards show an even larger financial gap. IPL winners of the Orange Cap and Purple Cap receive ₹10 lakh, while the WPL awards for the same categories are ₹5 lakh. The gap widens for honours such as Emerging Player and Most Valuable Player, where IPL payouts remain significantly higher than those in the WPL.

The Finish and Its Significance

RCB reached 204/4 in 19.4 overs, securing their second WPL title. Delhi, meanwhile, faced another difficult ending to a season after reaching multiple finals without converting one into a championship.

The match stands out for the scale of the chase, the quality of the batting, and the composure shown under scoreboard pressure. It also reinforces Mandhana’s growing influence as a leader and performer in high-stakes games.
