P1Harmony Closes Out North American Tour with an Emotional Night in Oakland
Tuesday night at Oakland Arena was my very first K-pop concert, and a night I’ll never forget. It was a chance to Celebrate, Explore, Connect! with a community that’s so full of passion, creativity, and love for music. P1Harmony closed out the North American leg of their tour with a show that was full of energy and love from start to finish, and I could feel the crowd’s excitement long before the lights even dimmed.
The night kicked off with Ampers&One, who opened for P1Harmony throughout this leg of the tour. It was also their final show, and their vocals, choreography, and stage presence instantly set the tone for what would become an unforgettable night. By the time they left the stage, the crowd was hyped and ready for more.
The arena was filled with P1eces, the group’s devoted fans, waving lightsticks and singing along. When the group hit the stage and launched into their hits like “Pretty Boy,” “Duh,” and “EX” (their first song to break into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #9), the place erupted. The whole arena felt like one big celebration.
One of my favorite parts of the night was when each member performed solo covers. The performances included Keeho’s emotional version of “The One That Got Away” by Katy Perry, and Jongseob’s version of “Sticky” with his own lyrics. It was a way to showcase each member’s individuality, and we loved every performance.
The visuals throughout the concert were also incredible. The show’s theme was futuristic minimalism, with space-inspired VCRs: short pre-recorded videos shown between sets that kept the energy flowing while giving the members time to change and prepare for the next set. Many fans came dressed to fit the dress code, matching either the futuristic minimalism theme or the pink, black, and white aesthetic of their DUH! EP.
And I can’t forget the “ments”, the segments between songs, when the members paused to talk to the audience. These weren’t just breaks between performances; they were heartfelt, funny, and genuine conversations that made the huge arena feel surprisingly intimate and gave us fans a chance to connect with the artists themselves.
Even as the night went on, their energy never dipped, not even during the encore, when they came back out to perform more fan favorites like “Killin’ It.” This show was also a celebration of P1Harmony’s fifth anniversary, which made it even more special. The group was surprised with a tribute video that played during the encore, composed of clips of fans from all over and memories from their journey over the years. Watching it together had everyone emotional, including the members themselves. Seeing them tear up as they looked out at the crowd was a memorable moment; it really showed how hard they had worked over the years and reflected the love between P1Harmony and P1eces.
By the end of the night, my voice was gone from singing and screaming, but my heart was full. P1Harmony delivered a show that was energetic, passionate, and deeply personal. For my first K-pop concert, I couldn’t have had a better experience. It was the kind of night that stays with you long after the lights go down, a reminder of how music brings people together to Celebrate, Explore, Connect!
