Sunidhi started singing at just four years old and gained recognition after winning the television show Meri Awaaz Suno in 1996. At thirteen that same year, she made her playback debut with Ladki Deewani Dekho, Ladka Deewana from Shastra. Since then, she has recorded over 2,500 songs in more than 600 films.

Her breakthrough came with Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi from Mast, catapulting her career to new heights. Her versatile voice has resonated across multiple languages, including Bengali, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, and Punjabi. Some of her biggest hits include Sheila Ki Jawaani (Tees Maar Khan), Dance Pe Chance (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi), Desi Girl (Dostana), and Dhoom Machale (Dhoom).

She has collaborated with legendary artists like Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, and S.P. Balasubrahmanyam while working with top music directors such as Ilaiyaraaja, A.R. Rahman, Pritam, and M.M. Keeravani. Her powerful voice has brought life to songs picturized on leading Bollywood actresses, including Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, and Rani Mukerji.

She received her first Filmfare nomination in 1999 for Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi from Mast and won her first Filmfare Award in 2005 for Dhoom Machale from Dhoom.

Over the years, she has won multiple honors, including a SIIMA Award, a Mirchi Music Award, and several IIFA and Screen Awards. Most recently, in 2023, she won a Filmfare South Award for Ra Ra Rakkamma from Vikrant Rona.
